ACO - "Care and Share" ProgramFor those of you who are new to Green, our school, along with all the other elementary schools in Allen, participate in Allen Community Outreach's "Care and Share" program. With the aid of the families from our school, the "Care and Share" closet at ACO is stocked with all the items needed to help people in our community who are in emergency situations. Each school is assigned a type of item for collection each month. It might be a snack food, dental items, laundry supplies, etc. These rotate throughout the year school year ensuring the closet is stocked with everything a person in an emergency situation may need. Your teacher will have a box located outside their classroom door designated for the collection of the "Care and Share" item of the month that you purchase. At the end of each month, the items are collected and delivered to Allen Community Outreach. This is a great way for the students of our school to participate in a community service project while helping stock ACO's emergency supply closet. As a special incentive, the classrooms will be competing each month to see which class can collect the most donations... the classroom that collects the most will receive a special prize!
