Accelerated Reader The PTA funds the Green Elementary Accelerated Reader program each year including books, AR tests, and program awards. This program is instrumental in spreading interest in reading by all students. Due to wonderful fundraising results, Green PTA has helped to upgrade the Accelerated Reader Program! Green now has access to all the tests available from Renaissance Learning (the maker of AR). Renaissance Learning is the world’s leading provider of computer-based assessment technology for pre-K-12 schools. Adopted by more than 75,000 North American schools, Renaissance Learning’s tools enhance the curriculum and personalize practice in reading. Green Elementary now has access to more than 130,000 AR quizzes plus all new quizzes as they are created. Students may be assessed on books read from the school library, their own collection, the public library or from books bought at a store if a test was written for that book. This wonderful new opportunity opens up thousands of book titles, both fiction and non-fiction, to each child. Parents need to remember that a child should still be reading on the correct reading level to improve comprehension and appropriate content. Your child's teacher will be able to advise you of the correct reading level for your child. Please also see the Accelerated Reader and AR Quiz List pages on the Green Librarian's website. 
With a few clicks of the mouse, you can search for book titles by book level, author, topics and more. It is very easy and handy! The results provide lots of information including a quick summary, ratings as well as book covers. If you want to create a book list from the titles you are searching, then you can add your books to the AR Bookbag feature. This book list can then be printed and taken to the library or book store.
