PTA Programs


The PTA sponsors various programs monthly in conjunction with the PTA General Assembly meetings. Check out this site frequently for details surrounding upcoming events, such as Curriculum Night, Grade-Level Music Programs, Chili Cook-off, Open House, Bike Rodeo and the End-of-Year Picnic.

Chili Cook Off
Following the PTA Meeting @ 7 PM


Calling All Chili Chefs!

Enter your chili recipe in to the Green Elementary 1st Annual Chili Cook off! Each chili batch entered will be “taste tested” by A Panel of Green Teachers & Green Families with the Top 3 chili recipes winning Prizes!

  • Most Original Chili
  • Flossie Floyd Green People’s Choice Award
  • Favorite Flavor Award
  • Best Chili Name
  • Best Dressed Chili Competitor

    All entries to be brought to the Green Elementary Cafetorium in a labeled crock pot or other warming unit, minimum of 2 gallons of chili per entry. Entries must be delivered by 6:15pm on January 8. Chili is defined for this contest as any kind of meat, or beans, or combination cooked with chili peppers, various other spices and ingredients. Both meat and vegetarian chilis are acceptable, but will not be judged separately. The judges will be asked to evaluate the entries based on the following criteria:

  • Good flavoring – “not too spicy or bland”
  • Chili pepper taste – “not too hot or mild”
  • Texture of meat – “not too chewy or mushy”
  • Consistency – “not too thick or too thin”
  • Best Chili Name
  • Answer to a simple question, “If I am to have one bowl of chili for the rest of my life, which one would I choose?”

    The decisions of the Chief Judges shall be final.
