Youth Protection
The Youth Protection committee helps with students' safety during the first two weeks of
school in the mornings and afternoons. In addition, the Bike Rodeo and Red Ribbon Week
are events that are coordinated by the Youth Protection Committe for the participation
of Green students.

Bike Rodeo
Calling all bikes, helmets and ....riders of course for a fun-filled evening at
Green Elementary's Bike Safety Rodeo on Thursday, April 10th
(6:30-8:00 pm) in the school parking lot. A brief PTA meeting will take place at 7pm.
Performance Bike of Plano will sponsor a special Bicycle safety obstacle course
The Allen Police Department will have on display one of its finest squad cars and motorcycles
Climb into one of Allen's shiny red Fire Trucks, thanks to the Allen Fire Department
Enjoy a cookie courtesy of Green's PTA Hospitality
And you WON'T want to miss the AMAZING United Freestyle Stunt Team Show! It'll be a
Fabulous Free Family Night Out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BICYCLE SAFETY TIPS
Head injuries are the most serious type of injury and the most common cause of death for bicyclists
Studies have proven that bicycle helmets work to reduse head injury
Parents should set good example by wearing a helmet, also
Teach your child to look left-right-left before entering a roadway or intersection
Do not weave in and out of parked cars, be predictable
Always be alert and pay attention while riding, watch for traffic and obstacles
Ride on the right side of the roadway with traffic - NEVER against traffic
Always look behind and to the left before moving to the left
Hold onto the handlebars at all times
Use hand signals to indicate a turn or stop
Walk your bicycle across crosswalks
